All this year I had one task I wanted to do before I could enjoy life without feeling guilty. Last night at 9 o’clock it was done. This task reminded me of the watershed that took forever to complete. It took 2 lawn mowers, mega hours and the result is amazing. What am I talking about you say – it is the backyard. Last year I got Jim to use his tractor with his rotary cutter to cut it all down. After that we needed to rake it all then cut it by lawn mower. Bev started to rake it but we both ignored this fun task. It was my goal to have it completed by the end of may before the mosquitos got out but it never happened. We made a small tent camping site so we can put the tent when we want to get out of the house to enjoy life. Bev wanted to do this for a while but it was me who took a while to come around to this thinking. We just have to make a fire pit back there so we can have a fire. It is neat where it was made because the large trees surround it in order to allow it to have shade on 2 sides till late in the afternoon.
Todays task is do weed the strawberry garden and rassberries. The strawberries half of them have been growing like weeds – very tall and till this week no strawberry flowers. The other half has smaller groweth but tons of strawberry flowers. There should be lots of strawberries this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other berry that we are going to be having this year is saskatoon berry. These trees came with the property and they are one of my favorite berry’s. I always that they are better than blue berries. The last few weeks they have been in full bloom with lots of flowers (change that to mega flowers) it looked amazing. Now they are turning to actual berries. Awesome!!!
Since most of the work is done now it is time to get ready for some fun. The weekend of June 27th we are going to camping at Gwilliam lake about an hour away that is going to be fun. Fishing is another long forgotten thing we did previously. We went online yesterday and got our license. Fish look out here we come. Down by the coldstream we can try and catch dolly varden ( trout of an variation) just a few minutes away. In July we hope to get the boat ready to go on the road. Today we are going to look at making a camping box for all our cooking stuff and in the near future a pinic table for the new campsite area.
After we finish the strawberries and rassberry garden we are going into Chetwynd to look at the final look on the chainsaw carvings. There was horse that looked extemely much like a horse surprise surprise. There was a samurai, the norse god Odin plus acouple that looks like they were dancing or something. It will be neat to see what they are exactly in the end. We picked up a moose antler carving on Friday. It has a grizzly bear with a deer and a coyote. It looks pretty amazing. Hopefully pictures will be showing up here shortly for your viewing.
Talk to you soon bye for now.
